Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City Unveils its Policy and Program for FY 2081/82
Dhangadhi: The Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city of Kailali has unveiled its comprehensive policy and program for the upcoming financial year 2081/82, focusing on sustainable development, employment creation, and improved public services.
On Friday, Mayor Gopal Hamal announced the new initiatives, which emphasize good governance, social justice, and disaster management. The central theme of the plan is to transform Dhangadhi into a "livable green city and welfare sub-metropolitan," addressing climate change impacts while ensuring sustainable cleanliness, environmental protection, and biodiversity.
Key highlights of the policy and program include: Development Priorities: The city aims to prioritize various development programs, introducing the 'One Ward One Agricultural Product' initiative to boost local agricultural production. Active City Police: The sub-metropolitan municipality plans to maintain an active city police force, dubbed 'Har Gadhi City Police,' to enhance citizen services.
Employment Fair: To expand employment opportunities, a large employment fair will be organized, involving employers, skilled workers, and those seeking to learn new skills. This initiative will be in collaboration with non-governmental organizations and private sectors.
Night Market for Youth Employment: A night market will be established to create self-employment opportunities for students, fostering a culture of 'self-earning, own education,' in partnership with the Far West Province government. Educational Quality Improvement: The 'Community School Educational Quality Improvement' program will be launched to enhance the educational standards in community schools.
Efforts will be made to increase the 'Sub-metropolitan Education Development Fund' with support from various donors to facilitate more educational programs. Healthcare Enhancements: In line with the commitment to "clean sub-metropolis, healthy people, quality healthcare," the sub-metropolis plans to make healthcare infrastructure, medicines, equipment, and other resources more technology-friendly to improve basic healthcare services.
Ambulance and Health Initiatives: The 'One Ward One Ambulance' program will be implemented to enhance ambulance services. Additionally, the Aama Bachau Abhiyaan will be strengthened to reduce home births to zero. Health and Lifestyle Programs: The 'One House Five Yogas and Five Herbs' program will promote Ayurveda and yoga education in schools, aiming to instill a "healthy lifestyle" concept. Sports and Public Amenities: The 'One Ward One Field' program will continue, and the construction of modern smart toilets with cafes in public places will be prioritized. These initiatives reflect Dhangadhi's commitment to becoming a more sustainable, prosperous, and well-governed city, addressing the needs of its residents while promoting development and environmental stewardship.
