Dhangadhi Sees High Demand for New Banknotes as People Queue at Rashtra Bank

Dhangadhi: In preparation for the upcoming Hindu festival of Vijaya Dashami, commonly known as Vada Dasain, a considerable influx of people can be witnessed in Dhangadhi, Kailali, as they endeavor to obtain new banknotes for the occasion.

Before 10 a.m., a steady stream of individuals could be observed making their way to the Rashtra Bank in Dhangadhi, eagerly anticipating their opportunity to exchange for fresh banknotes. A queue of eager residents can be seen forming outside the Rashtra Bank State Office in Dhangadhi. In light of the approaching Dasain festival, the provision of new banknotes commenced on Monday, drawing in members of the public to the Rashtra Bank's state office in Dhangadhi.

Despite having to wait in line for the opportunity to exchange their banknotes, the general populace is elated to receive fresh notes for their festive celebrations. Each individual is permitted to exchange banknotes up to a total of NPR 18,500. Various commercial banks are also participating in the distribution of new notes, with selected branches being designated for this purpose.

The Rashtra Bank in Dhangadhi is facilitating the issuance of new banknotes in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100, with an exchange limit of NPR 18,500 per person. Asmita Gorkhali, the Information Officer of Rashtra Bank Dhangadhi, has reported that for this year's Vijaya Dashami, Tihar, and Chhath festivals, two dedicated counters have been established since Monday, specifically to provide the public with fresh currency notes. He further clarified that NPR 18,500 encompasses a range of denominations from 5 to 100 rupees.
