Bus and Driver Involved in Baitadi Incident, Where Armed Constable Was Struck, Now in Custody
Baitadi: Authorities in Baitadi have taken swift action by apprehending both the bus and its driver involved in the unfortunate incident where an armed police constable was struck. The tragic incident occurred at around 1:00 AM last night when a bus collided with 40-year-old Narendra Singh Mahara, a resident of Patan-8 Harichan, near the Patan Municipality-8 Harichan junction along the Dasarathchand highway, resulting in his untimely demise.
Mr. Mahara, who served as a constable in the Armed Police Force, had disembarked from his vehicle while returning home from Bajura and was proceeding on foot when he was tragically struck by Sudurpaschim Transport bus No. 8K 7970, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Giri of the District Police Office Baitadi.
The bus responsible for the accident was en route from Dhangadhi to Darchula. Deputy Superintendent of Police Giri confirmed the arrest of Janakraj Giri, a resident of Punarwas Municipality-1 in Kanchanpur and the driver of the bus, who was apprehended in Khochlek. The authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this distressing incident.
