Ministry of Foreign Affairs send a 'diplomatic note' to India regarding a child's in Darchula
Dhangadhi: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent a 'diplomatic note' to India regarding the death of a Nepali child when the Indian side detonated an explosion during road construction in Darchula. Sources have informed that on Sunday morning, the Foreign Ministry sent a 'diplomatic note' to the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu about the incident.
According to sources, the Foreign Ministry has made three requests to the Indian government in a diplomatic note. Firstly, to effectively coordinate with the border local bodies of Nepal when proceeding with infrastructure construction work towards India, secondly to take special precautions while doing such work and thirdly to give proper compensation and relief to the families of the deceased.
The Nepali Embassy in New Delhi has informed the Ministry of External Affairs of India about the incident. India has already admitted fault in the incident. Pawan Mahara, a 12-year-old boy of Byans Rural Municipality-2, Dumling, was killed when Garg & Garg Company detonated an explosion while India was widening the Tawaghat-Lipulek road across the Mahakali river.
After the incident, a team of people's representatives from Darchula went to India for discussions with the victim's family on Saturday. After discussion, it has been agreed to pay 16 lakh as compensation to the victim's family.
