A 12-year-old passes away due to gelatin explosion in Dharchula

Dhangadhi: A child has passed away after being hit by a stone in Darchula. On Friday, 12-year-old Pawan Mahara of Byans rural municipality-2 of the district has died. He is said to have died due to a gelatin explosion that was carried out to detonate a guard across Darchula towards the Indian border.

Mangalsingh Dhami, chairman of Byans Rural Municipality, said that he died after being hit by a stone that was allegedly thrown from the Indian border. He said that Mahara died on the spot when the stone that was thrown when the gelatin was exploded to break the guard, hit him on the head. According to President Dhami, the child died while coming to the school in Dumling after the Tihar holiday.

He said that some locals were also injured in a similar incident. Garg & Garg Company involved in road construction in Lakhimpur, Dharchula, India explode gelatin. On the other hand, District Police Office Darchula has informed that the child died after being hit by a stone, but it will be revealed after the investigation whether the stone came from across or not.

It is said that a team led by Police Inspector Rajesh Shahi from Dumling Police Station and District Police Office has been sent to the spot to investigate the incident. Here, Nepal and India are separated by the Mahakali river.
