Controversial bill passed to make temporary employees directly permanent in Far West

Dhangadhi: A bill has been passed to regulate the formation, operation and conditions of civil service brought by the Far West government. The bill was passed in the 25th meeting of the 10th session of the Provincial Assembly on Monday.

In the meeting, Speaker Arjun Bahadur Thapa announced that the Bill was passed based on voice vote. Ran Bahadur Rawal, Minister of Internal Affairs and Law of the Provincial Government, submitted a proposal for the passage of the Bill in the Assembly. Participating in the discussion on the report of the bill, the member of the provincial assembly of CPN-UML, Krishnaraj Subedi, expressed his opposition to the bill. He has also requested to withdraw this bill as it is controversial.

The bill passed by the state assembly will be certified by the state head and become law. The state government has introduced a bill to make 339 temporary and contractual service employees directly permanent.
