Locals Delighted as 15-Bed Basic Hospital Begins Operations in Kailari

Dhangadhi: Locals are delighted following the commencement of operations at the 15-bed Kailari Basic Hospital in Baijpur, Kailari Rural Municipality-5, Kailali.

They are happy that the hospital’s opening has eliminated the need to travel outside the rural municipality for treatment, even for minor health issues.

Dal Bahadur Dhami, the Administrative Officer of the rural municipality, stated that quality services are being provided as the municipality has arranged the necessary manpower, equipment and other logistical requirements for the hospital’s operation.

Locals view the opening of the hospital as a significant achievement. Prem Devi Chaudhary, a resident of Baijpur (Ward No. 5), said, “The compulsion to rush to hospitals in places like Dhangadhi for treatment whenever a health issue arose has now ended. Having hospital facilities close to home has made things much easier, saving both the time and money previously spent on travel for medical care.”

Charan Lal Chaudhary expressed his happiness, noting that the operation of a well-equipped hospital within the village marks a significant milestone in terms of healthcare services.

Rural Municipality Chairperson Rajsamajh Chaudhary stated that the hospital building was constructed at a cost of NPR 185,263,869 and added that, following its opening, focus is being placed on expanding services such as emergency care and ultrasound (video X-ray) facilities.

According to Bal Bahadur Dhanuk, the Acting Chief of the hospital, services currently available include OPD, pharmacy, laboratory, ECG and 24-hour maternity care.

The hospital administration reported that 1,200 patients have received various medical services within the first month of its operation. There are currently 18 staff members at the hospital, including one medical officer.
