Election Officer of Nepal Trade Union Congress Goes Missing, Raises Concerns Over State Committee Elections
Dhangadhi: Sudurpaschim Province Committee's Election Officer for the Nepal Trade Union Congress (NTUC) has become unreachable, raising concerns among the participating members. Advocate Uddhavraj Bhatt, who was responsible for overseeing the state committee's election process, failed to establish contact.
Despite the agreed-upon plan to commence the remaining election procedures at 8 am on Sunday, Bhatt did not arrive at the designated polling location, according to Gyanendra Shah, a presidential candidate. Shah stated that the decision to begin the election process had been made on Saturday evening, but even by 11:30 am on Sunday, Election Officer Bhatt had not shown up. Furthermore, Bhatt remained unresponsive to phone calls seeking clarification on the matter.
In the race for the presidency of the Nepal Trade Union Sudurpaschim, Shah and Shiddharaj Bhatt are the competing candidates. Both candidates had paid a registration fee of 8,000 rupees to formalize their candidature.
A total of 156 individuals are eligible to cast their votes in the Nepal Trade Union Sudurpaschim elections.
