Far West Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah Returns to Kathmandu to Expedite Council of Ministers Expansion
Dhangadhi: Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah of Far West province has made his way back to Kathmandu in a renewed effort to foster consensus for the expansion of the Council of Ministers. Accompanied by two ministers from the state government, namely Physical Infrastructure Development Minister Prakash Deuba and Economic Affairs Minister Naresh Kumar Shahi, he arrived in Kathmandu on Monday evening.
As per the Chief Minister's personal secretariat, his visit aims to hold discussions on the Council of Ministers' expansion and seek assistance from top leaders. Notably, Shah had previously traveled to Kathmandu a week ago to address the cabinet's expansion. During that visit, he held meetings with prominent figures including Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and Chairman of the Nepali Congress, former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Despite five months having passed since the elections, the Far West government remains incomplete. The two components of the power coalition, CPN-Maoist Center and Civil Liberation Party, have not yet participated in the government. Currently, three ministers, including the Chief Minister, are running the provincial government. Within the span of five months, Far West has witnessed the formation of two governments, yet neither has achieved full functionality and efficiency.
