Government school in Bajhang closed, employees on strike
Dhangadhi: Due to the protest of the Nepal Vidyalaya Staff Council, the teaching and learning of government schools in Bajhang has been stopped. According to the announcement of the closure of government schools across the country for one week from Sunday, 28th of August(12th of Bhadra), the staff council has closed government schools in Bajhang district. Sher Bahadur Oli, a teacher of Satyawadi High School, said that the government school was closed from the 28th August to the 3rd September (12th to 18th Bhadra) because the council had been making eight demands to the government.
Accordingly, the government schools of all the 12 municipalities of the district, including Jaiprithvi municipality of Bajhang, have also stopped teaching for a week from Sunday. Devi Bhakta Joshi, State Member of Nepal School Staff Council, said that the Nepal Staff Council has been holding various protest programs since 17th August (Bhadra 1st) as a pressure to address the demand. On Saturday, the council issued a statement and asked for help by closing the school.
