Rice shortage in Bajura

Dhangadhi: There is shortage of rice in Bajura. There is shortage of rice in Kolti branch of Food Management and Trade Company Limited of the district. According to the Kolti branch, only 10 kg of rice is sold to one person due to shortage of rice. At present, the branch has only 300 quintals of rice in stock.

The Bajura District Administration Office has instructed the branch to sell only 10 kg of rice per person on the basis of citizenship. Although, 10,000 quintal of rice was sanctioned for the fiscal year 077/078, Kolti branch received only 8,000 quintals in total.

The remaining 2,000 quintals of rice is said to have been in Surkhet. According to the Bajura branch of Food Management and Trade Company Limited, 5,000 quintals of rice has been approved in the current fiscal year 078/079, but the process of transportation has not proceeded.
