Stolen jeep found in a drain in Godawari Municipality

Dhangadhi: A young man stole a jeep parked in Dhangadhi, but the stolen jeep has been found after meeting with an accident.

Driver Khadka Bahadur of Chhavispathibhera-5 of Bajhang parked his Bolero jeep (Ba 14 Cha 1644) at Dhangadhi Bus Park on Thursday night. He carried business from Bajhang who had come to Dhangadhi to collect their commodities.

He had parked the jeep outside Nabin Hotel at night. But when he woke up in the morning, his jeep was missing. Thereafter, they informed the police, while the police found the jeep in a drain in the forest of Godawari Municipality. While the driver was sleeping, a young man stole the key of the jeep from his window.

It has been revealed from the police investigation that he started the jeep and took it to Godawari. Police have arrested Karan Singh Dhami, 27, of Shuklaphanta Municipality-2 of Kanchanpur on charge of stealing a jeep and causing an accident.

Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Prateek Bista said that an investigation is underway into the involvement of others in the incident. Meanwhile, the passengers of the vehicle said that they have been unable to find Rs 1.5 lakh in cash kept in the jeep.

Although, they found laptops, radios, citizenship and other items kept in the jeep. Police said that further investigation is underway into the incident.
