Duhun Rural Municipality in Darchula Introduces Monthly Allowance for Unmarried Men

Darchula: In a noteworthy move aimed at bolstering social security, Duhun Rural Municipality in the Darchula district has introduced a monthly allowance specifically targeting unmarried men. As part of this pioneering initiative, Duhun Rural Municipality will disburse a monthly stipend of five hundred rupees to unmarried men residing within its jurisdiction.

The rural municipality has disseminated a formal notice, inviting eligible individuals who meet the criteria to reach out to their respective ward offices to facilitate the allowance process. Shanti Bam, the Vice President of the rural municipality, shared that this progressive decision was collectively reached by the village council.

The criteria for eligibility stipulate that non-Dalit men aged between 50 and 67 years and Dalit men aged between 50 and 59 years will be entitled to receive this monthly allowance. This move has been enshrined within the rural municipality's policy and program for the fiscal year 2080-81 BS, solidifying their commitment to enhancing the well-being of unmarried men within their community.
