Authorities Confiscate Illegal Merchandise Valued at Two and a Half Lakhs in Kailali and Kanchanpur
Dhangadhi: In a recent operation, illicit goods with an estimated value of two and a half lakhs have been apprehended from several locations across Kailali and Kanchanpur. Law enforcement agencies have successfully intercepted contraband items, constituting customs-evaded merchandise, valued at over Rs. 260,000 from diverse areas within these two districts.
The crackdown on customs evasion culminated in the seizure of prohibited goods from three distinct locales in Dhangadhi and an additional one in Kanchanpur on the preceding Thursday, as confirmed by the police. Among the confiscated items, Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-2 and 8 bore a collection of assorted goods such as sarees, suits, cosmetics, and other related products.
Further details elucidate that women's suits and sarees, appraised at approximately Rs. 26,000, were repossessed from the vicinity of Milanchowk situated within Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city-3. Concurrently, law enforcement sources divulged that a separate operation in Kanchanpur's Rehabilitation-11 Dokebazar yielded the seizure of commodities valued at Rs. 7,500, inclusive of invalid broiler chickens with an estimated worth of Rs. 10,000, alongside a bicycle. The operation was executed during the early hours of Friday morning.
