Office of ward no. 14th locked by locals Dhangadhi

Dhangadhi: The office of ward number 14 of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city has been locked. Residents of 'G' village of Ward No. 14 locked the ward office on Sunday, demanding a budget for culvert construction. Locals have accused the ward chairman of diverting the budget of 20 lakh 5 thousand which came to build a culvert in 'G' village.
Navraj Joshi, a local, said that the ward chairman and members said that the budget would come from the state government to build the culvert. Joshi said that the ward office was locked because the ward president and members cut the budget for the culvert this year and diverted the budget for laying gravel from Shivshankar Basic School to Dhan Bahadur Bista's house.
Residents of 'G' village allege that the ward president and members are doing arbitrary things. While talking to the ward chairman Man Bahadur Bista on this matter, he admitted that the budget was put elsewhere. He said that the budget of 2.5 lakhs will be provided from the state government for the construction of culverts, so the budget has been cut due to the need for a double program.
Similarly, Ward Member Man Bahadur Khatri said that although four lakhs was budgeted for road gravel in the financial year 2078/79, that budget was not allocated from Shivshankar Basic School to Dhan Bahadur Bista's house, so gravel was used on other roads based on the need.
Although the ward president Bista said that the state government will provide budget for the construction of culverts in Jigaon, the locals said that they were forced to lock down as the plan for construction of culverts in 'G' village was not included in the red book of
the state.
