Customs evasion goods seized in Kanchanpur
Kanchanpur: A significant seizure of customs evasion goods has taken place in Kanchanpur.
In a noteworthy operation on Monday evening, law enforcement authorities discovered and confiscated a range of illicit items in Bhimdatta Municipality-5 of the district. The seized goods, which included ladies' shoes, bidis, and cooking oil, among others, were estimated to be valued at approximately 23,000 Nepalese Rupees. These items were surreptitiously brought into the municipality, evading the necessary customs procedures. The police found them abandoned and promptly took them into custody.
In a separate incident, during an afternoon patrol on the same day, a police team stumbled upon abandoned illegal goods in Punarwas Municipality-4, specifically Lohni Chowk. Among the confiscated items, sugar with an approximate value of 12,000 Nepalese Rupees was recovered. This discovery once again highlights the persistent problem of customs evasion in the region.
Authorities are committed to conducting a thorough investigation into these incidents, aiming to bring those responsible for customs fraud to justice.
