Two Arrested in Kanchanpur for Smuggling Customs Evasion Goods
Kanchanpur: Two individuals have been apprehended in Kanchanpur for their involvement in the smuggling of goods to evade customs duties.
In front of the electricity office in Gadda Chowki, Bhimdatta Municipality-10, law enforcement officials successfully arrested the suspects along with illicit goods worth approximately 15,000 rupees. The seized items included sarees, dhotis, tarpaulins, and bicycle parts, all of which had been fraudulently brought into the country while evading customs regulations. A joint police team comprising personnel from the Sudurpaschim Province Police Office in Dhangadhi and the Gaddachouki Police Office conducted the operation leading to the arrests on Friday.
Furthermore, at Bhimdatta-10 Gaddachouki, law enforcement authorities discovered and seized one motorcycle and one scooter, along with clothes and sugar illegally imported from India. The estimated value of these seized items amounts to approximately NPR 188,300. The District Police Office in Kanchanpur, through their dedicated team, found the goods abandoned and subsequently took them into custody. Both the detained suspects and the confiscated goods have been handed over to the Customs Office in Gaddachouki for further necessary action.
