'Pfizer vaccine' will be given to school children in Baitadi

Baitadi: In Baitadi, 38,000 children under the age of 5 to 12 will be given 'Pfizer vaccine' against Covid. The Ministry of Health and Population has been instructed to conduct a vaccination campaign targeted at those age groups in all districts.

According to Yogesh Prasad Bhatta, Head of Health Office, Baitadi, the vaccination campaign will start from 21st to 25th of August. It is said that 568 vaccine workers and 1136 volunteers will be mobilized for this. The campaign will be conducted in seven local levels here until August 21st and in the remaining three municipalities until August 25th. It is said that the campaign will be conducted in Surnaya, Shivnath, Pancheswar, Dilashaini, Sigas and Dogdakedar Rural Municipality along with Melauli Municipality of the district till the 21st and in Patan, Purchoudi, Dasharatchand Municipalities till the 25th.

There are 38,005 children of that age group in the district and a vaccination campaign is being conducted for them by setting up vaccination centers in the school. According to the Health Office, the campaign will be conducted by establishing 562 vaccination centers across the district. The second dose will be given 21 days after the first dose of vaccine.

So far, more than 178,000 people in the district have received full vaccination against Corona, while 97,619 people have received 'booster dose'. Information Officer of the Health Office, Bipin Akhtar, informed that 19 people died here due to Corona. The government has requested to vaccinate all citizens who missed vaccination earlier.
