Congress convention postponed at 4 local levels of Kailali including Dhangadhi
Dhangadhi: The Congress convention at four local levels of Kailali, including Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan city, has been postponed. The convention has been postponed in four municipalities due to a one-day strike by the Netra Bikram Chand Bilwa-led CPN (Maoist) and delay in printing the voter list.
Nepali Congress Kailali party president Narnarayan Shah 'Manu' informed Dinesh Khabar that the conventions of Dhangadhi sub-metropolitan municipality, Gauriganga, Ghodaghodi and Bhajani municipalities have been postponed. "Due to the bandh, not all the candidates and voters could be present," Shah said. "Conventions are being held in Godavari, Chure, Mohanyal, Kailari, Joshipur, Bardagoria, Lamki, Janaki and Tikapur today." He said that city conventions will be held in four cities from 8 am tomorrow. After the municipal convention, the convention of the state constituency will be held on November 19.
After the concluding of the Federal Constituency Convention on November 22, the date for the District Convention has been fixed on November 25. Kailali Congress has stated that a 1,501-member district convention main management committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the current president.
