Sixty people trapped in the flood caused by Seti River, Baitadi
Dhangadhi: Sixty people of Baitadi have been trapped in the floods caused by Seti River. Sixty members of 10 families living in a settlement near the Seti River have been trapped in Dhungad of Sigas Rural Municipality Ward No. 5 of the district.
Ram Bahadur Dhami, spokesperson of the rural municipality and chairman of Ward No. 5, said that the river was flowing around the settlement and 60 people were trapped in the middle. "I am in Dhangadhi now," he told Dinesh Khabar. Discussions are underway with the state government for rescue.
According to him, about 120 families have been living on the banks of Seti River in Dhungad. Most of them have moved to safer places at night saying they are at risk of floods. They have been kept in the local Sarada Secondary School.
