A man absconding after shooting his daughter

Dhangadhi: A man who shot dead his daughter in Baitadi is still absconding.

Dhansih Mahara of Purchaidi Municipality-10, who shot his married daughter is still absconding. He shot dead his 20-year-old married daughter Belmati Mahara on Saturday evening, police said.

Police Inspector Dhami said, "We are working with caution and vigilance to find Mahara, who fled with the help of a loaded gun by threatening to shoot anyone who came forward." Mahara, set his house on fire after killing his daughter.

According to Jit Bahadur Bista, ward chairman of Purchaidi Municipality-10, Mahara set fire to one out of his two houses on Saturday night. Mahara has two wives, he had a dispute with his younger wife. Ward chairperson Bista told Dinesh Khabar that Mahara shot Belmati for taking her mother's side.

Police have been deployed in the area to search for Mahara. There have been two incidents of shooting in Baitadi recently, the Baitadi police is also investigating the murder of a 17-year-old Bhagarathi Bhatt of Chadepani in Dogadakedar Rural Municipality-7 of Baitadi district.

Therefore, the attention of Nepal Police is currently focused on Baitadi while police officials continue to arrive in Baitadi to investigate the two murder cases.
