Binod Singh Bista, Baitadi: Three checkpoints in the Far-Western hilly district have been opened for Nepalese who collect pension from India on Thursday. Baitadi's Jhulaghat and Darchula's Dharchula (Pulghat) and Jauljibi checkpoints are open for three days.

Chief District Officer of Baitadi, Mohan Raj Joshi, informed that the checkpoint was opened after the Indian pensioners could not receive their pension during the lockdown. The District Administration Office in Baitadi reported that the Jhulaghat checkpoint will be open from 10 am to 5 am on Friday. It has been agreed to reopen the border for three days from today in coordination with the local administrations of the two countries as the international border is closed due to the risk of Coronavirus.

Chief District Officer Sharad Kumar Pokharel informed that these checkpoints in Darchula will be opened in two shifts. It has been stated that an identity card and the disclosure of health issues are mandatory when entering India at the border.
