The people of Dhangadhi who were rescued from India during the lockdown have been kept in various quarantine centers in Dhangadhi. The quarantine centers established in various schools and colleges of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolis is said to be poorly managed. Deepak Nepali, who was rescued and quarantined said, “There are new people being admitted in the quarantine each day. While most of us have not been tested for the virus. The quarantines have limited toilets and drinking water taps and all of us have to share it. People are constantly being brought here in a tipper vehicle. Initially, we were provided with decent food but now the quality has dropped. We are given rotten food, so most of the people here are arranging for food to be brought from their house. I have been here for 16 days now. There is no medical assistance provided for the sick. No one even comes to ask.”

About 700 returnees from India have been placed under quarantines managed by Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolis. Some of the quarantine victims are being provided with food by the sub-metropolitan government in collaboration with various organizations, while others have been eating from home. Many of them are facing health problems but there are no health workers to provide assistance or medication.

Those living in the quarantine of Basudev Mavic of Ward No. 6 have complained about not receiving any food. They have been eating from home. Tikaram Bhatt said, “My family refused to bring food as other returnees from India are being given admission. No one has undergone a medical examination. The rooms are not clean. The toilet is dirty. A rapid test was conducted 6 days ago but no PCR test has been conducted
