Israeli army confirms no evidence that Bipin Joshi Is alive
Dhangadhi: An official from the Israeli army has stated that there is no evidence suggesting that Bipin Joshi, the Nepali student captured by Hamas, is alive.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the confirmation was provided at 7:30 am local time on Monday. The IDF official informed Nepali Ambassador to Israel Dhan Prasad Pandit, Bipin’s sister in the United States, his brother Kishor Joshi in Nepal, and two officials from the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office through a video conference.
The official communication stated that no evidence has been found indicating that Bipin is alive.
Following the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas brokered by the United States, there was a plan to release both living and deceased prisoners under Hamas control today. However, Bipin’s name was not included in the list of 20 individuals scheduled for release.
Bipin Joshi, originally from Kanchanpur, had gone to Israel for his studies and was taken hostage by Hamas fighters during their attack on a kibbutz area on October 7. Ten Nepali students were killed during the assault, while Bipin was taken captive by Hamas.
