Construction of Cricket Training Ground Underway in Shuklaphanta Municipality
Kanchanpur: In response to the growing interest among youth in cricket, plans are underway to construct a cricket training ground within the Shivshankar Mavi complex situated in Shuklaphanta Municipality-5.
With the objective of nurturing cricket talents capable of competing at national and international levels, preparations are being made to establish a dedicated cricket field and training facility. Ward President Chakra Bahadur Khadka disclosed that the Sudurpaschim Province government has allocated a budget of NPR 820,000 for the construction of the cricket practice ground. Additionally, the consumer committee will contribute NPR 120,000 towards the project.
Khadka further mentioned that necessary groundwork for the construction has already commenced on the 15 kattha land allotted for the purpose. Narendra Shahi, the chairman of the consumer committee, informed that efforts are being made to level the ground and address any existing unevenness. Once this preparatory work is completed, the focus will shift towards preparing the cricket pitch, which will measure 22 meters in length and 4 meters in width.
Shahi expressed optimism that upon completion, the cricket facility, inclusive of the training ground and field, will be equipped to host competitions ranging from local to national levels.
