Mahendranagar: In a disturbing incident, a young man was subjected to severe physical assault by armed police at the Gaddachouki border crossing in Kanchanpur. Vasant Bahadur Dhami, a resident of Vedkot Municipality-1 Hattithala, who was transporting goods from the forest, fell victim to the brutality of the armed police.
The unfortunate incident occurred near Pilar in the Nepal-India border area 7, where Senior Constable Karna Bahadur Bohra allegedly assaulted Dhami, causing serious injuries. The victim accused Senior Constable Bohra, stationed at BOP Gaddachouki, of abusing and brutally attacking him on Thursday evening while he was in civilian clothes.
Dhami sustained significant injuries, with a head split in two places, and received ten stitches for the wounds on his head. Currently undergoing treatment at Mahakali Provincial Hospital, Dhami has filed a formal complaint with the district police office in Kanchanpur, asserting that Senior Constable Bohra of the armed police assaulted him with the intention of causing grievous harm or even death.
