Baitadi-Darchula road reopened after landslide clearance
Baitadi: The Baitadi-Darchula road section, which had been blocked since Sunday evening, has been reopened for traffic.
The Dasharatchand Highway, obstructed by a landslide at Jeudema in Patan Municipality-4, resumed operations at 10 a.m. on Monday. Deputy Superintendent of Police Makendra Kumar Mishra from the District Police Office, Baitadi, confirmed that vehicles are now moving toward their destinations.
The landslide, triggered during slope-cutting work for road improvements by Saffron Construction, occurred around 6 p.m. on Sunday. Three excavators were deployed early Monday morning, and the debris was cleared by 10 a.m.
Following the clearance, short and long-distance vehicles from Baitadi and Darchula, which had been stranded overnight, have resumed their journeys. For now, traffic is operating in a single direction on the highway.
