Darchula's Duhun Rural Municipality to Transfer Teachers Every Five Years to Improve Students' Learning
Darchula: Duhun Rural Municipality of Darchula is implementing a new policy that mandates the transfer of teachers who have taught in the same school for more than five years. The move comes after concerns were raised about the impact of teacher stagnation on student learning. Lokendra Bahadur Bam, who heads the education, youth, and sports branch of the rural municipality, stated that the lack of regularity in transferring teachers has resulted in diminished teaching skills and enthusiasm for the profession.
The Rural Municipality Education Regulations, 2076 BS, stipulate that teachers who have completed five years of service in the same school within the rural municipality will be transferred between schools, as per Rule 57 of the first amendment. Bam added that the policy aims to foster the exchange of experience and best practices among teachers in permanent, contract, and relief positions in public schools.
Interested parties must submit an application to the rural municipality office, along with the management committee's decision of the concerned school for the teacher's transfer.
