16 inmates in Baitadi prison infected with Covid

Dhangadhi: Covid-19 has been reported inside the district jail Baitadi. The risk of further infection has increased after 16 people in the prison were confirmed to have Covid-19.

According to the prison in charge, Dhara Bhandari of Baitadi Jail infection was confirmed in 4 during PCR test on Wednesday after some inmates suffered from high fever. She said that the infection was confirmed in 12 more people during the antigen test of all those who were in contact with them on Thursday.

It is informed to us that now the infected prisoners are being treated in isolation. However, there are currently 93 prisoners in the prison with a capacity of 25 people and it is said that there is a problem in maintaining physical distance.
