Signing of MOU for construction of Paschim Seti Hydropower Project

Dhangadhi: A memorandum of understanding is going to be signed for the construction of the West Seti hydropower project of national pride. A memorandum of understanding will be signed between the Investment Board of Nepal and the Indian company NHPC Limited for the construction of the Paschim Seti hydropower project, which has been lying idle for three decades.

Sushil Bhatt, Executive Director of the Board, said that the memorandum of understanding will be signed between the board and NHPC on August 18 (Bhadra 2) for the feasibility study. Along with Paschim Seti, it has been decided to give the Seti-6 project to an Indian company. There will be an agreement to submit a detailed project report within two years.

The company gets the survey license of the Seti hydropower project within 45 days of the agreement. After the board approves the said license, the company will start the study.

The meeting of the board held on 23rd July has decided to give permission to further study for the development of West Seti with 750 MW capacity and Seti Nadi-6 (SR 6) joint hydropower project with 450 MW capacity.
