Achham: Students studying at Mangala Nera Secondary School, Oligaun in Mangalsai Municipality-9 of Achham have found a shortage of drinking water in the school. He said that they were facing problems in using toilets due to drinking water.
Students who come to the school regularly said that there is a problem with using the toilet due to lack of proper drinking water. Adolescents who participated in the public hearing program on sexual and reproductive health rights and mass sexuality education said that the sanitary pads provided by the school during menstruation create problems in regular school visits due to lack of toilet and water supply. "The school has four taps and six toilets, but there is no running water and the toilets are not in use," said Srijana Rawal, a class 11 student.
Maya Bhandari, who is studying in class 10, says that there is a problem not only during menstruation but also for regular defecation in school. "There is no toilet in the school. You have to go to the bush at the back of the school. Open defecation is very difficult," she said. According to Jharna Pariyar, the biggest problem is menstruation due to a lack of toilet and water. "Pads should be changed during menstruation.
How many times have we changed pads in the bush? There are people grazing cattle around the forest. There are many problems," she said. School principal Min Bahadur Bhandari said that the problem has been raised in the meeting of the school management committee.
