The aircraft museum of Dhangadhi to be relocated in Nepalgunj
Dhangadhi: Aircraft museum of Dhangadhi the attraction of internal and external tourists is being shifted. The museum is being relocated as the lease of land leased by Captain Bedh Upreti has expired. Established nine years ago in Hassanpur, the Aircraft Museum was different from the museums associated with ships opened abroad. But due to lack of land, the aircraft museum is being shifted to Nepalgunj, said Captain Bedh Upreti. "Museums were never built on such a new concept.
But now the problem of getting land is being shifted," he said. "Meanwhile, the Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan Corporation has provided free land at VP Chowk." He turned the Cosmic Air's Fokker-100 aircraft into a museum. The aircraft itself was turned into a museum 'home'. Two hundred miniature aircraft from the time of the Wright Brothers until now have been housed there. The museum was built on the personal initiative of Captain and Aerial photographer Upreti.
He also announced that part of the proceeds from the museum would be spent on the treatment of cancer patients in the far west through the Bede Upreti Trust and on the Jehendar Scholarship. He opened a museum in his hometown to do something new, as the Far West was always obscured. The museum, which cost Rs 1 crore 25 lakhs, was crowded with domestic and foreign tourists.
