Two arrested in Kanchanpur with jewellery and cash

Kanchanpur: Police have arrested two persons from Kanchanpur along with millions of rupees worth of jewellery. Lal Bahadur Shahi and Bishnu Shahi of Belauri Municipality-1 Pataiya were arrested on Monday night, said Police Inspector Kailash Singh Bista of Area Police Office, Tribhuvanbasti. Police said that they were arrested on the basis of information provided by the Indian police. A joint team of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force arrested them along with gold jewelery and millions of rupees stolen from India, police said.
Police Inspector Bista said that all the items including gold and silver were worth tens of millions of rupees. He said further investigation into the incident was underway. The Armed Police Force (APF) had received information that the arrested persons had stolen jewellery, cash and gold from Bangalore, India and brought it to Nepal. After that, they informed the Nepal Police and raided the house, said SP Birendra Air of Armed Police Force Nepal No. 35 Battalion Headquarters Shaileshwari.
