Baitadi District Hospital installs Gene Expert Machine to examine patients for tuberculosis

Baitadi: With the installation of Gene Expert Machine in the laboratory of Baitadi District Hospital, tuberculosis can be detected in the district itself.

With the connection of the machine in the laboratory, the obligation to go out to detect tuberculosis has been removed. A team of technicians from the National Tuberculosis Center and the State Public Health Laboratory, Dhangadhi, connected the machine, according to the District Hospital, Baitadi. Earlier, people were forced to go out for TB tests in Baitadi.

The connected machine will help diagnose leukemia and test whether the rifampicin used for tuberculosis patients is working.
