Bhim Rawal attends party meeting after six months

Dhangadhi: UML Vice-Chairman Bhim Rawal has attended the party meeting after nearly six months.

Rawal, who has been in the Madhav Kumar Nepal group for a long time, did not attend the standing committee meeting for six months expressing disagreement with UML chairperson KP Sharma Oli. But he has participated in the meeting called today.

Former Maoist leaders have also participated in the meeting. Former Maoist leader Lekhraj Bhatta, who was appointed as a member of the standing committee by Chairman Oli, also attended the meeting. This is the first time that Rawal and Bhatta have attended a CPN-UML meeting together.

In the past, Bhim Rawal was in charge of the UML's Far-West and Lekhraj Bhatta was in charge of the UCPN-M's Far-West. After the unification of the two parties, Rawal was given the responsibility of in-charge of the CPN-Far-West. Bhatta was invited to the meeting of the state committee as an invited member.

At that time, relations between the two leaders were good. While in the CPN (Maoist), Rawal started vehemently opposing Oli. After that, the distance between Rawal and Bhatt also increased. After the dissolution of the parliament, Bhatta sided with Oli while Rawal sided with Prachanda and Madhav Kumar Nepal.

Even after the Supreme Court revived the UML and the Maoist Center, Bhatt did not go to the Maoist Center. He was made a member of the UML Standing Committee and in charge of the Far-West. Rawal, on the other hand, remained in the Madhav group and continued to oppose Oli.

But after the appointment of Sher Bahadur Deuba as the Prime Minister, Rawal also did not support Nepal. He opposed the split, saying that the 10-point agreement prepared by the joint task force should be implemented.

After Oli said that he would implement the 10-point agreement, he participated in the meeting of the standing committee today. Now that Rawal and Bhatta will remain in the UML, who will Oli give the responsibility of in-charge of the Far-West? The interest has increased.
