Pedestrian killed in a truck crash in Kailali: Blocked East-West Highway now open

Dhangadhi: The East-West Highway, which was blocked after a pedestrian was killed in a truck crash, has come into operation. Mansih Gurdhami, 40, died on the spot when he was hit by a truck (Ga 1 Kha 6441) at Rajipur in Gauriganga Municipality of Kailali.

After Gurdhami was killed in a truck crash, locals blocked the highway demanding action against the driver and compensation. According to Inspector Ganesh Raj Upreti of the State Traffic Police Office, Attaria, the highway has been restored after the two sides agreed to come to the Area Police Office, Malakheti to discuss the issue.

The truck driver Tekraj Khatri, 38, of Harjeni Rural Municipality Ward No. 3 of Udaipur and the truck have been taken under control by the police.
