A committee formed in Baitadi to solve the problem of road workers on a hunger strike

Dhangadhi: A committee has been formed in Baitadi to solve the problem of road workers who have been on a hunger strike for six days. The committee has been formed under the coordination of District Coordination Committee Chief Siddharaj Bhatta.

It is said that the committee has been formed to help solve the problems of the workers working on the Patan-Pancheshwor road in Baitadi. A three-member committee has been formed under the coordination of Chief Bhatt. Chief of Patan Municipality Keshav Bahadur Chand and Chief of Melauli Municipality Krishna Singh Nayak are members of the committee.

Patan Municipality Chief Keshav Bahadur Chand said that a problem solving support committee was formed after the road workers went on a hunger strike as they had not been paid for 21 months. The road workers, who have been on a relay fast since last Friday, have been saying that they will fast until they get paid. They are unhappy about not receiving any salary on demanding for it all they get is assurance to get paid.

They have started the strike to put pressure on the government as they are not getting their salaries and will continue their fast till they get their salaries. Twelve road workers are working on the Patan-Pancheshwor road. They stated that he has not received his salary since Ashoj, 2076 BS.
