Harka Sampang Alleges: Parliament Is Being Reduced to a Formality

Chairperson of the Shram Sanskriti Party, Harka Sampang, has said that efforts are being made to reduce Parliament to a mere formality, adding that his party has opposed such moves.

Speaking to journalists after boycotting Wednesday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, Sampang accused Parliament of being run in an arbitrary manner. He said that important questions related to the public should be answered by the Prime Minister.

He also criticized the limited time provided for reviewing the policy and programme, alleging that there was an attempt to push parliamentary proceedings forward without adequate discussion.

Sampang added that the public will now assess the government’s working style.
