50% cultivation of paddy completed in Far-West

Dhangadhi: A total of 50% cultivation of paddy has been completed in the Far-Western states. According to Dipayal State Agriculture Directorate, 50% cultivation was completed by Tuesday.

According to Yagya Raj Joshi, director of the State Agriculture Directorate, 62% has been planted in Darchula, 60% in Dadeldhura and 55% in Kailali. Similarly, 55% paddy has been planted in Bajura, 45% in Achham, 45% in Baitadi, 45% in Bajhang, 45% in Doti and 37% in Kanchanpur, according to the Agriculture Directorate.

Paddy is being planted in an area of 185,000 hectares in the Far-West. Irrigation facility has reached only about 50% of the total area under paddy cultivation in the Far-Western region.
