Locals demand maintenance of theroad connecting Godawari Flour Mill to Janata Secondary School
Dhangadhi: Locals have complained that the road connecting Godawari Flour Mill in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City Ward No. 13 Boradandi to Janata Secondary School has been neglected. The road connecting Mohanapul-Attaria 6-lane road is in a bad condition.
During the election, the people's representatives of all three levels had expressed their commitment to blacktop the roads with drains. But the commitment is limited to assurances, a local said. There are potholes in the 1 km road connecting Godawari Flour Mill to Janata Secondary School. It is difficult to walk on the road due to rainwater. Locals have complained that the Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan has ignored their repeated requests for road maintenance and construction. Dissolved MPs Puskar Ojha and Narad Muni Rana and state assembly member Dilliraj Pant had promised to build the road. Jayabhan Singh Bohara, a local of Ward No. 13, complained that even the elected representatives of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan had given only assurance.
"Governments at all three levels have repeatedly promised to build roads," he said. "We have repeatedly asked for roads with drains, but it has been ignored." Despite the commitment of the Sub-Metropolitan Corporation to repair and construct the road, the road is still muddy. They have demanded to give priority to the roads connecting Kailali village and Mohanapul-Attaria 6-lane road. However, locals have complained that the sub-metropolitan government is allocating budget only for the road connecting the nearby houses. Local Dharam Raj Padal said that their requests have been avoided again and again.
The road construction has not been included in the policy and program of the coming fiscal year. Initially, it was said that it would be built in the budget of ADB, but the sub-metropolitan claims that there was a problem due to lack of choice. Chairman of Ward No. 13 Bijaya Raj Joshi said that the condition of the road was chaotic and claimed that the puddles would be filled tomorrow (Sunday).
Locals allege that the sub-metropolitan city has not given priority to the roads that have deteriorated. However, he said that the budget has been allocated for the road blacktop.
