Five accused in Baitadi rape case released on bail

Baitadi: The people accused and arrested in the case of rape of an 18-year-old girl of Sigas Rural Municipality-3 of Baitadi have been released on bail.

Five of the six arrested have been released on Rs 50,000 bail while one was released on his due date.

Court judge Janak Singh Bohara said that the defendants Amar Singh Dhami, Manoj Singh Dhami, Rajendra Singh Dhami, Nara Bahadur Dhami and Sher Singh Saud were released on Rs 50,000 bail each.

An 18-year-old girl was raped in Sigas Rural Municipality, reconciling the incident in the village, the culprits had agreed to give 1 tola of gold to the girl.

But the incident came to light after the perpetrator did not give the gold. The main accused Deepak Singh Dhami is absconding.

Narayan Prasad Adhikari, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Baitadi, said that search for him was underway.

"We have twice sent police based on information that the main accused is hiding in India. Police had reached his place of work but did not find him,' he said.
