Six jailed for gang-raping two girls in Kailali

Dhangadhi: Six people have been jailed in Kailali for gang-raping two teenagers.

They have been remanded in custody following the order of the District Court for gang-raping a 13- year-old and a 14-year-old girl in Janaki Rural Municipality Ward No. 5.

Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Prateek Bista informed DineshKhabar that Dhirendra Bista, Naresh Chaudhary, Ramesh Shahi, Ram Bahadur Chaudhary, Manoj Chaudhary and Mahesh Chaudhary of Janaki Rural Municipality No. 5 have been remanded in custody for trial.

According to him, Krishna Nagarkoti and Satyam Rawal have been kept in the Juvenile Correctional Institution.

The six have been sent to jail and two to juvenile detention centers, but one is still absconding.

Chief of the Area Police Office, Tikapur, Deputy Superintendent of Police Madhusudan Neupane said that the search for the absconding Chandra Shahi is ongoing.
