Darchula-Tinkar road blocked since a month and a half

Darchula: The 40-kilometer stretch of the Darchula-Tinkar road is under construction and has been blocked for a month and a half.
The track of the road from Khalanga to Sunsera Tusarpani of Beas village was opened 12 years ago but it has been completely blocked since the onset of rains. Roads have been blocked at about 6 places from Khalanga to Duhuko Hikila. The road from Hikila to Sunsera has also been blocked for the same reason.

It is very difficult to re-operate the road to Hikila of Duhu village immediately. "People's life in Duhan and Vyas has become chaotic as the road under construction has been blocked," said Jaydev Mahara of Duhu Rural Municipality-5. Landslides have occurred in some places. The fear of falling is the same.

It is even more difficult to reach Khalanga from Vyas. In the past, people used to travel to and from the district headquarters via Indian routes, but this time, it has been blocked from April 25. The government has closed the Nepal-India border. The Darchula-Tinkar road project has started clearing the blocked roads.
Dinesh Raikhola, an engineer of the scheme, said, In Timurpata alone, 20 more meters will be built. He said that the office has started the work of filling the nets by employing the locals. The road has deteriorated in 6-7 places up to Hikila. If the road in Timurpata can be opened, machines can be taken in other areas.

If the machine is sent, an attempt is being made to open the road so that the tractor can run within two weeks, says Engineer Rakhola. Khalanga Khar Gokuleshwar road has also been blocked for a month. This road section is blocked due to floods and landslides on July 20.
The road has been re-operated after a month after repairing the road at Dhauligad near Khalanga, the district headquarters.
The road was blocked after Dhauligad damaged the road due to incessant rain on July 19. Assistant Chief District Officer Tek Singh Kunwar said that the Road Division Office Baitadi Patan has temporarily opened the road. The work of putting up the wall is still going on.
The road has been washed away by the flood while the bridge under construction at the same place remained unfinished. The bridge has not been constructed in the area for the past five years due to compensation dispute.
