A man dies in police custody in Dhangadhi

Dhangadhi: Amar Bahadur Chand, 45, of Fulbari village in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City Ward No. 14 died in police custody.

He was arrested by Fulbari Police Office at 3 pm on Tuesday after a local informed the police that he had a fight at home after consuming alcohol.

He was then kept in the detention cell of the Area Police Office, Fulbari. However, the Area Police Office, Phulbari, claims that he died in the toilet on Wednesday morning. The cause to his death is unknown. A team led by SP Pratik Bista of District Police Office Kailali is going to Fulbari for further investigation. Chand's body has been kept at the Seti Provincial Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
