Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll reaches 20

KATHMANDU: The death toll from coronavirus in Nepal has reached 20 after a 46-year-old woman who died in the Kohalpur-based Medical College in Banke district on Monday posthumously tested positive for COVID-19.

With this, the total number of coronavirus deaths so far in the country has reached 20. The woman, who was being treated at the hospital’s ICU, had died on Monday evening.

According to Chief District Officer of Banke district Ram Bahadur Kurumbang, her report came out positive on Tuesday evening.

Hospital sources said she was also suffering from pneumonia, and was admitted to the hospital after her health condition deteriorated. This is the second COVID-19 related death in Banke district.

Earlier, a 25-year-old youth had died due to coronavirus infection in the district.
