२०७७ जेठ २२, ०१:४३

The isolation ward of Mahakali Hospital at Bhimdatta Municipality of Kanchanpur is full of COVID-19 patients. Fifteen patients have been admitted to the ward with a capacity of 20 beds. One person who tested positive in the rapid diagnostic test (RDT) has also been kept in the same isolation ward.

The hospital started the treatment for Coronavirus on Tuesday. Seven people with the infection from Gauriganga Municipality of Kailali district were also admitted to the same ward on Wednesday. They were brought there due to a scarcity of beds at the isolation ward of Seti Provincial Hospital, Kailali. The remaining eight patients are from Kanchanpur. All the patients are India-returnees.

Dr. Saroj Acharya of the Mahakali Hospital said, "16 people suspected to be coronavirus positive are also admitted in the hospital. The hospital is full of Coronavirus patients and suspected cases. There has been a delay in getting the reports of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests of those patients. The hospital has been unable to accommodate more patients due to the paucity of beds and ventilators. The Sudurpaschim Provincial Government has been unable to finish the construction of the hospital that will be able to accommodate 50 beds. The ICU of Mahakali Hospital also lacks ventilators. There are only eight ventilators in the 14 ICU wards across the Sudurpaschim province."-RSS
