5 new cases of Coronavirus in Far-west (1 in Dhangadhi)

Dhangadhi : Five cases of Coronavirus have been confirmed in the far west, tests conducted at the Corona Testing Laboratory in Dhangadhi confirmed the cases.

A two-year-old girl and her 23-year-old mother from Budhiganga Municipality, Ward No. 1 of Bajura, a 37-year-old man from Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan, Ward No. 3, a 23-year-old man from Kailali's Bhajani Municipality, Ward No. 7 and a 34-year-old man from Janaki Village Municipality, Ward No. 9, the health directorate confirmed. Corona cases have already been confirmed in 20 people in the far west, while two more people from the far west are being treated in Karnali said Dr. Vikas Devkota, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population.

The first positive case of the Coronavirus was found in the far-western region on April 30, the patient was confirmed to be a 34-year-old man from Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan, Ward No. 5 who had returned from Dubai, UAE. Soon after cases were also confirmed in three more people on March 7, a 34-year-old woman from Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, Ward No. 5, a 21-year-old man from Kailali Lamki and a 41-year-old man from Bedkot Municipality of Kanchanpur, The 21-year-old from Lamki had returned from India.

A 61-year-old woman from Lamki Chuha Municipality, Ward No. 1 had also tested positive for the virus on April 20, she had come to Far West from Eastern Nepal. All the five infected patients have been confirmed to have returned home by April 20 after which no new cases were found for the next 40 days in the far western region.

Five more people had tested positive for the Coronavirus on the same day, the cases were confirmed in three people from Janaki village of Kailali, one person from Parashuram municipality of Dadeldhura and one person from Shivnath village of Baitadi. The three people from Janaki village have only internal travel history, according to the health directorate, thereafter four more cases were confirmed on May 25. The corona cases were confirmed to be 20, 20, 22 and 27 year old men of Shivnath Gaonpalika, Ward No. 1 and 2 of Baitadi, the four had entered Dhangadhi from India on May 22 through Gauriphanta.

Coronavirus was also confirmed in a 32-year-old man from Mellekh village municipality of Achham on June 25 who had also returned from India on May 25. A 38-year-old man from Achham of Janaki village municipality of Kailali district on August 29. The infected girl of Achham had entered Dhangadhi with her father on May 22 through Gauriphanta. The infected people of Kailali also came from India. Similarly, a 25-year-old man and a 30-year-old man from Janaki village municipality of Kailali and a 21-year-old man from Mahakali municipality had also returned from India. In the far west, the first five infected people have also been discharged after treatment for the Coronavirus.
