Market monitoring of gas and petroleum products conducted in Tikapur
Tikapur: Petrol pumps and gas dealers in the Tikapur market have undergone monitoring under the leadership of Assistant Chief District Officer Kiran Joshi. The district monitoring committee carried out inspections of petroleum supplies on Wednesday, with participation from representatives of the Commercial Supplies and Consumer Protection Office, Nepal Oil Corporation, and other concerned offices.
During the monitoring, it was found that gas companies including Saipal, Manakamana, and Radiant have been supplying half-filled cylinders, while the availability of Bheri gas remains low.
Gauri Kumar Neupane, owner of New Abrila Traders, stated that transportation costs have increased due to the supply of half-filled cylinders. “Earlier, 50 to 100 cylinders of gas were sold daily, but now even when 234 cylinders are brought in, sales are slow,” he said, adding that the number of customers has decreased and the situation is expected to improve gradually.
Similarly, Rajendra Chaudhary, owner of Rosy Trade Suppliers, reported difficulties due to the lack of Bheri gas supply for the past week. He said that once Bheri gas arrives, the shortage in the market may ease to some extent.
Assistant Chief District Officer Kiran Joshi stated that there is no shortage of petrol and diesel in Tikapur, but consumers are facing difficulties in obtaining Bheri gas. She noted that consumers may have stored gas at home and instructed sellers to issue bills for supplied gas and maintain proper records.
Petrol and diesel supplies, however, are continuing regularly in the area.
