Tri-Party alliance candidate Laxman Nyure elected chair of Ghodaghodi campus
Ghodaghodi: Laxman Nyure has been elected chair of the Ghodaghodi Multiple Campus Board of Directors in Ghodaghodi Municipality–1, Kailali.
Nyure, the joint candidate of all major political parties, won the election held on Thursday by defeating independent candidate Double Bahadur Shah by a margin of 89 votes. Nyure secured 277 votes, while Shah received 188 votes. Nyure is known to be close to the Nepali Communist Party.
Similarly, Ayush Joshi and Radha Kumari Pandey Binadi, both candidates from the Nyure panel, were elected vice-chairperson and women member, respectively. Joshi is close to the Nepali Congress, while Binadi is affiliated with the Nepali Communist Party.
Independent candidate Bhojraj Joshi won the post of coordinator of the campus audit committee. He defeated Hemant Shahi of the Nyure panel by six votes. While there was unanimous selection for Dalit, Janajati, and open members, as well as for members of the accounts committee, elections were held for the remaining posts.
According to Election Committee Coordinator Shiva Prasad Dhakal, out of 581 special, permanent, and general voters at the campus, 472 participated in the voting process. Four of the votes cast were declared invalid.
Ghodaghodi Multiple Campus, which has been affiliated with Tribhuvan University since 2062 BS, has a board of directors with a three-year term.
