Bajura: Bamka Bazaar in Bajura, which was devastated by a massive fire, has now been reconstructed with the support of local, provincial, and federal governments, along with various organizations.

Located in Bamba, Budhiganga Municipality-5, Bamka Bazaar is known as the main commercial hub of Bajura. Although tin sheds have been erected to restore the market infrastructure, goods have not yet been stored in them. The fire, which started at the Nawadurga Hotel on Jestha 23 due to a gas cylinder explosion, destroyed more than 36 shops and hotels.

Despite the physical reconstruction, the shops and hotels have not returned to their previous operating conditions. Many shopkeepers, who had started their businesses through loans from banks and financial institutions, suffered heavy financial losses. Along with goods, important documents such as educational certificates, property deeds, and bank transaction records were also lost in the blaze.

The affected traders have expressed concern that, while the sheds have been built, they are still facing significant challenges in storing and managing their inventory within them.

Financial contributions for the reconstruction included Rs 10 lakh from Triveni Municipality, Rs 5 lakh from Budhiganga Municipality, and between Rs 1 to 2 lakh from Himali Swamikartik, Jagnath, Budhinanda, Badimalika, Khaptad, Chhededaha, and other municipalities. The provincial government contributed Rs 4 lakh to support the rebuilding effort.
